Another year, another band concert for Grace. She is in the percussion section and had a really cool performance with her group in the balcony. She’s so talented. It is always great to hear the band improve over the last two years and see how naturally talented Grace is.
This thanksgiving was a bit of a departure for us. Rather than hang with the Durochers, we wound up traveling to Ohio and Pennsylvania to enjoy time with our families.
We stopped on Wednesday night to visit my dad and Phyllis and then traveled Thursday to PA to spend the day with my mom, sister, and their families. It was cramped but fun. We enjoyed swapping stories, catching up, watching old home movies, and playing Apples to Apples. Saturday we gathered at Duros with Brants and Dumonts for some thankful time before we headed back to work and school. All in all it was a great time with family and friends. | Flickr Photoset
This November, I took Grace on her first cross-cultural trip to Spain. I went there for work to present communication strategy as well as network with our missionaries there.
We took a few days to see the sights of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. We ate some amazing food including fried sardines, kabops, tapas, chocolate’ y churros, meat and cheese for breakfast, flan, churrizo soup, and, of course, Starbucks.
We saw an original Picasso and Rembrant at the Prado Museum and took a day trip to Toledo, the original capital of Spain.
The trip was amazing. It was a fantastic time for Grace to experience a different culture, great to spend focused time with her, great to connect with the Lord, great time for Grace to get a deeper vision for her life as she interacted with so many amazing FM missionaries. I’m thankful for my little girl and a job that allows me to serve and share life this way. | Flickr Photoset
