Another year, another band concert for Grace. She is in the percussion section and had a really cool performance with her group in the balcony. She’s so talented. It is always great to hear the band improve over the last two years and see how naturally talented Grace is.

This November, I took Grace on her first cross-cultural trip to Spain. I went there for work to present communication strategy as well as network with our missionaries there.

We took a few days to see the sights of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. We ate some amazing food including fried sardines, kabops, tapas, chocolate’ y churros, meat and cheese for breakfast, flan, churrizo soup, and, of course, Starbucks.

We saw an original Picasso and Rembrant at the Prado Museum and took a day trip to Toledo, the original capital of Spain.

The trip was amazing. It was a fantastic time for Grace to experience a different culture, great to spend focused time with her, great to connect with the Lord, great time for Grace to get a deeper vision for her life as she interacted with so many amazing FM missionaries. I’m thankful for my little girl and a job that allows me to serve and share life this way.  |  Flickr Photoset

Grace decided to play volleyball for the second season. Last year it was not a good experience all around. However, with a great coach, another year of maturity, and strong leadership from the coaching staff, this year was a better one. Grace was a great teammate, learned how to deal with adversity for one of the first times as an athlete, and finished the year strong. It was fun to continue to build relationships with the parents as well as cheer our girl on to slam it down.  |  Flickr Photoset

Late in August was an event a few years in the making: My Dad’s wedding. They decided to live my dream: An Elvis Vegas wedding. Dad and Phyllis were married in an Elvis chapel. We took a few extra days to spend with them as well as discover Las Vegas. We took a tour of the city, saw some amazing hotels, got some great time chilling at the pool, and finished the week off with a big-time treat: The Beatles Love.

It was awesome to share time together in Vegas. I’m not sure I’d ever go back there, but was grateful to be there to celebrate as well as make some great memories with my family.  |  Flickr Photoset
